Congregation Etz Chayim

Throughout my time at The New School in New York City, I have been deeply involved in Jewish life and politics both on and off campus. I served as a board member of Hillel, representing over 140 Jewish and Israeli students, while also working to combat antisemitism. In addition to my advocacy, I was the Deputy Field Director for a winning New York State Assembly campaign, a staffer for a NYC Council Member in Brooklyn, and an intern for United States Congressman Ritchie Torres. I look forward to sharing more about my undergraduate experience, my work in New York politics, and what it means to be a proud Jewish student on a college campus today.

The World Zionist Congress election, runs from March 10 to May 4, determines how $5 billion will be spent in Israel — and is seen as a referendum on the future of the country. American Jews can vote online and choose among 21 lists of candidates, or slates, each with a specific agenda and profile. There are options by denomination, demographics and outlook on Israel. What’s at stake includes religious pluralism, gender equality, rolling back gains for LGBTQ+ rights, stripping Reform/Conservative clergy and communities of their rights and funding. Come to this meeting to get your questions answered and find out how you can vote. This opportunity happens once every five years. The last election was in 2020.
