Mishloach Manot 2025

With Purim just around the corner, we invite you to join the Etz Community in fulfilling the mitzvah of Mishloach Manot.

Each year, Etz Chayim delivers about 350 Mishloach Manot bags to our members and our larger community of teachers and staff. Each recipient gets a bag chock full of goodies, with an accompanying scroll that can include your name, if you have sponsored the delivery of that bag.

This year you can participate in four ways:

Tell us what you’d love to see in this year’s bags - As we’re sure you’ve heard, 2025 is Etz’ 30th anniversary and we are celebrating with 30 events, all with the theme Strength in Community. So, we’re asking the community to show your strength by telling us what you’d like to see in this year’s bags. We’ll do our best! The deadline for responding is Feb. 12.

Sponsorship - Sign up to sponsor Mishloach Manot for your friends, your class or the entire community. All sponsorship forms must be received by February 27, at midnight.

Assembly Volunteers – Sign up to help us assemble our Mishloach Manot bags on Wednesday, March 5. It would help if you could do so by March 3.

Delivery Volunteers - Engage in the physical act of delivering the Mishloach Manot by volunteering to deliver a few of the bags to our community members. The deadline is February 21, at midnight.

And finally, if you live in a place that we would have a difficult time delivering to, such as a controlled access apartment, our address for you is actually a PO box, you are temporarily living at a place other than your permanent address, you’ve moved recently, you're going to be out of town during the delivery period (March 5 - 13) etc., or if you prefer to pick up your bag from Etz, or prefer not to receive a bag at all, please let us know by Feb. 21.

Purim ETZtravaganza
Sunday, March 9, 9:30 AM, Congregation Etz Chayim
Join us for our annual family-friendly Purim carnival! We’ll play our way through the story of Purim, with activities ranging from visiting queen Esther in her chambers to pony rides. Baked goods will be available for purchase at the Shushan bakery market stall. Cash, Venmo and Zelle only!  This free event is open to the community. Children in Kindergarten or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Contact Aliza with any questions.

Etz 2025 Purim Spiel: Little Orphan Estie
Thursday, March 13 at 6:00 PM, Spiel starts at 7:00 PM
Don't miss the world premiere of Little Orphan Estie as we celebrate Purim to the tune of the timeless musical Annie. We'll have it all: Dinner, Singing, a Youth pop-up Band, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails served with a variety of snacks, and of course the family friendly spiel. All the fun will be followed by a Hamantaschen oneg. The event is free, and no tickets are required. Please be sure to sign up by clicking here. The deadline to register is Thursday, March 6.

*The small print - the actual items in this year's bags will be subject to availability, budget, and variety. For example, as much as we'd be happy to fill the bags with chocolate, we recognize that may not be everyone's cup of tea.
