From There to Here: Scenes of Passage
5/8/12, 6:30PM
Running time: 20 minutes, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker
Filmmaker Howard Warshaw, "From There To Here: Scenes of Passage, tells the story of two members of his family who emigrated from Russia to the United States to escape anti-Semitism. His grandmother Sara came over in 1920 and his cousin Luda came in 1980. Though separated by 60 years, their stories are remarkably similar. It's a compelling tale of hardships overcome in pursuit of freedom.
After the screening Mr Warshaw will lead a discussion, sharing insights into the kinds of family dynamics that not only make these stories intriguing, but shape the lives of families generation to generation.
