Mimouna Celebration (Beyt Knesset)

Monday, April 21, 2025 23 Nisan 5785

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

For many centuries, North African Jews have celebrated the last day of Passover with Mimouna. They would have a festive meal of moufleta and sweet foods, with dancing and singing, to mark the parting of the sea and the redemption of the Jews from Egypt. Join us as we continue this tradition in our own Etz Chayim way.

Mimouna Celebration

Monday, April 21, 7:00 pm

Rooted in the Jewish communities of North Africa, Mimouna is one of Sephardi Judaism’s most beautiful celebrations. It is held the day after Passover, marking the return to eating hametz. We start Passover by saying, “Let all who are hungry come and eat.” And we end this joyous holiday of redemption by opening our homes and inviting everyone to eat and to celebrate, once again. Come to Etz for Mimouna! We will have traditional moufletta, Moroccan sweets, henna, craft activities, and dancing.
