G0d and the Big Bang:
Discovering Harmony between Science and Spirituality

In his book G0d and the Big Bang, Dr. Daniel Matt uncovers the sense of wonder and oneness that connects us with the universe and God.  Drawing on the insights of physics and Jewish mysticism, he describes in understandable terms the parallels between modern cosmology and ancient Kabbalah. He shows how science and religion together can enrich our spiritual understanding.  Dr Matt will give a rare public, non-technical, lecture on modern physics and medieval metaphysics at Congregation Etz Chayim.

Dr. Daniel Matt is a world-renowned scholar who left his teaching position at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley to devote his life to translating the Zohar, the central text of Kabbalah.

This lecture is free to Etz Chayim members who register in advance, $15 for community members who register in advance, and $20 for everyone at the door (if space is available).  Open seating, doors open at 6:30.

For people with even more interest in Dr. Matt's work, there will be a study group beginning on Yom Kippur afternoon and continuing with 3 Monday evening sessions.  Contact office@etzchayim.org for more information or to sign up for the study group, which is limited to 18 people.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
