Run for Their Lives is a global movement founded by Israelis in the Bay Area. Their mission is to raise awareness for the hostages held in Gaza.
Each week, groups worldwide come together for family-friendly walks or runs lasting 18 (ח"י) minutes. Participants wear red shirts and carry flags representing the 28 nationalities of the hostages. So far there are 70+ groups across the globe, with new ones joining daily.
Our Palo Alto group walks every Sunday at 12:30pm. People can join the silent WhatsApp group for location updates and to participate:

Since the mass immigration waves of the 1950s, Israeli literature has reflected the issues of Jews from Muslim countries and their integration into and influence on Israeli culture. Rachel traces the arc from marginalization to empowered voices through this rich and creative contemporary literature.

The calamity of October 7th and all that has followed has left Israel and the Jewish world in shock and despair. The expression commonly used is ein milim-no words! And yet, there are those who struggle and find words. Raw and painful, full of love and hope. these poems come from different parts of Israeli society and offer us a touchstone for how Israeli society is experiencing this unimaginable reality.
