A nazir is an "abstainer" from wine and funerals, and is the modern Hebrew word for a monk. Several things are prohibited for these Nazirites, but there are all sorts of "what-ifs" and special exceptions to consider. Rabbi Emeritus Ari Cartun will lead us in considering all these special scenarios. No familiarity with Talmud or Hebrew is required, and all your questions are welcome!

Cedars of Lebanon appear throughout the T”anach as symbols of strength and beauty in nature and in human character. This tree isn’t common around here, but there are grand specimens in Mountain View's Pioneer Park. Aaron Schuman will lead a meeting on Shabbat afternoon to touch the trunks, smell the needles, and learn about how the trees are described in scripture. Kids & leashed dogs are welcome, click through for more info.
