Join Congregant Shai Tsur as he shares the inspiring history of his grandfather, Meir Amit—an IDF General, Head of the Mossad, Knesset Member, and technological visionary who passed away 15 years ago. Meir Amit played a pivotal role in modernizing Israel's intelligence capabilities by introducing computers and is considered one of the founders of Israel's tech industry. This talk will explore both his historical significance and Shai's personal memories and relationship with him.

Shai Tsur has been a member of Etz since 2019. He serves on the Etz Board of Directors and Co-chairs Etz's Kol Yisrael interest group for Israel Born in Jerusalem, he spent his childhood shuttling back and forth between Israel and the US before settling down in Austin, Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas, Shai returned to Israel to serve in the IDF. He spent more than 15 years in the Israeli high tech industry before relocating to Silicon Valley in 2013. He and his wife Vicky have 3 children, a daughter in college and twin high schoolers. Their twins, Ariana and Elai, had Etz's first Zoom bar & bat mitzvah. Vicky is Etz's Learning and Prayer Coordinator. Professionally, Shai works at NVIDIA focusing on marketing and business development with startups.
