Feel free to attend one or both hours. Snacks will be served. Please RSVP to Ira at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ira has curated four of the five Etz art corridor exhibits.
This workshop is designed for beginning and intermediate level photographers. No special knowledge, experience, or equipment will be assumed.
Ira has noticed a group of common mistakes in many photos. The first hour will identify these mistakes and describe how to avoid them. These mistakes were selected because they're common, easy to identify, and easy to avoid. It should be possible to improve the quality of your photos with minimal study and practice.
Food: It's not just what's on your plate. There will be an art corridor exhibit of photos from the Israel 2019 trip based on the theme of "Food in Israel." The second hour will discuss ways to take compelling photos for this exhibit. Many photos of food are just static images of food on a plate. This kind of photo won't cut the mustard. The photos in the exhibit will need enough impact to maintain viewers' interest for close to a year. A photo of a bagel will get stale pretty quickly. While this discussion will focus on the example of compelling food photos for the Israel trip, the underlying lessons and tips will apply to photography in general.
